Brother Ultan Paul with His Royal Highness Sultan Azlan Muhibuddin Shah, Sultan of Perak
Brother Paul gave personal  encouragement  to stage productions, which were handled mainly by Brother Vincent, Brother Casimir ,Mr Timothy Chee and Mr Khoo Kay Hock. Among the plays staged in the 1960s were Pygmalion, A Royal Jester, The Magic Key, The King of Sherwood,The Government Inspector, My Fair Lady,Monkey’s Paw, A Battle of Wits,Oklahoma  and St Joan

Brother Casimir Hannon directed many plays in the 1960s and 1970s. Among the most memorable were "The Winslow Boy" (1965) , "St Joan" (1966) and "The Govenment Inspector"(1967)

Brother Paul was a familiar figure at the double bass on many drama occasions.

Mr Eugene Almeida
Teachers joined the students on the stage with great zest and gusto. Michaelians recall with glee the histrionics  of Brother Casimir  as  Professor Higgins, Mr Almeida as Colonel Pickering   and  Mr Khoo Kay Hock as Doolittle (“My Fair Lady”). Another hilarious stage personality was Mr Louis Rodrigues who acted as Patrick Flannigan in “The Magic Key”.

Michaelians salute Mr

Let us also pay a glowing tribute to the vast host of students who nurtured this vibrant tradition over the years.
Our gratitude and admiration is also extended to the School’s Military Band and Chinese Orchestra who have never failed to provide their excellent  musical support for our drama productions

Mr Adrian Tsen
Since the 1990s, the drama tradition has been nurtured by the Old Michaelians' Association under the astute leadership of its president  Mr Adrian Tsen. Over the years, the drama tradition has become synonymous with the Michaelian school development thrust which has added many new infrastructural facets to the school today. Michaelians all over the world have rallied to the call of Mr Adrian Tsen to  respond "to our duty's sweet call."
