To accommodate the growing numbers
of students, the original building extended east and west from the central
portion. The extension was completed in March 1941.However, the first
occupants of the finished classrooms and part of the office were Anderson
School with its Headmaster, Mr E.C.Hicks.St Michael’s and Anderson School ran on simultaneously without any hitch,thanks to the
understanding and cooperation of the
two Headmasters and the teachers and
students of both establishments.

following societies were established during Brother Patrick’s time:

Birthplace of the
St.John’s Ambulance
Brigade,Malaysia
The first unit of the SJAM was founded at St Michael’s
on 16th September 1940 as the dark clouds of the impending World War II were darkening the skies.
The founders were Mr Lim Kean Hooi
and Mr Lim Guan Choe. Among the pioneer members were Mr Ng Khoon Hong, Mr
E.E,Fitzpatrick and Dato’ Yeoh Kean Teik.

Bro.Patrick was also responsible for the establishment
of the De La Salle School,Kampar and
for acquiring the “ Malay hut” to
house the increasing number of students at St.Michael’s Institution.
A branch school was also started with Mrs Woodford as its Supervisor.
